25 year old Republic of Ireland striker Kevin Doyle has signed a four year deal with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The fee is believed to be around ?6.5million and Wolves manager Mick McCarthy called the signing a “coup”.
McCarthy, quoted on the official Wolverhampton Wanderers website, said:
“For us to secure the signing is brilliant and there might be one or two others scratching their heads and wondering why they didn't do it, but perhaps that's because we were in there from the start.”
Doyle himself said:
“I'm delighted to be joining what is historically a massive club and one which will be trying to establish itself in the Premier League.”
