Pompey Takeover Gets Go Ahead



Arab businessman Sulaiman Al Fahim has been appointed chairman of Portsmouth Football Club after the Premier League gave the green light for his takeover of the club.

Al Fahim has been appointed with immediate effect.

Al Fahim's company - of which he is sole owner - has agreed a deal ‘in principle' with current owner Sasha Gaydamak.

A statement released by the UAR based businessman read :

“I very much look forward to working closely with the club's management and supporters to develop Portsmouth Football Club and deliver future success. The club has a long and fine history of achievement that I intend to build on.”
