24 year old left winger Stewart Downing will move from Middlesbrough to Aston Villa for a fee believed to be around ?12million, according to Press Association reports.
Downing has had surgery on a foot injury this summer and will not be able to play until October at the earliest, but it appears that Villa were unwilling to wait until the January transfer window to secure their man.
