Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole will not be risked for this London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.
Cole was on the substitute's bench for Chelsea's midweek Champions League match but he, winger Yuri Zhirkov and Paulo Ferreira are all being kept back for the Carling Cup match.
Also sidelined for Carlo Ancelotti's side is defender Alex, so the Chelsea starting eleven is likely to have a familiar look to it, with Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka once again starting in attack together.
Still out for Harry Redknapp's Tottenham Hotspur are goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes, midfielder Luka Modric and central defensive pairing Jonathan Woodgate and Michael Dawson.
Redknapp may revert to a more usual 4-4-2 formation after experimenting with 4-3-3 against Manchester United.
Upfront Robbie Keane could make way, with Niko Kranjcar coming in on the left side of midfield to make up the four.
Carlo Cudici will continue in goal, with Ledley King and Sebastien Bassong the only fit centre halves.
