Croatia striker Ivan Klasnic could start for Gary Megson's Bolton Wanderers in tandem with captain Kevin Davies.
Klasnic impressed last time out, scoring in Bolton's 3-3 draw with Manchester City and will keep Sweden international Johan Elmander on the bench.
Definitely out for the home side is Gavin McCann, who has a serious ankle injury. Fabrice Muamba will start in his place. Chung-Yong Lee and Tamir Cohen are also expected to start in midfield.
Bad news for West Ham Utd manager Gianfranco Zola is that their injury crisis shows no sign of easing.
Carlton Cole and Valon Behrami are both still absent as is Matthew Upson and Luis Jimenez, while midfielder Mark Noble is suspended after being sent off at the weekend.
Fit again and pushing for a start, however, is Kieron Dyer, who could support Guillermo Franco in attack for West Ham.
