The Daily Mirror seem convinced that Liverpool have managed to hijack the much-mooted Marouane Chamakh to Arsenal move.
Apparently a deal between Chamakh and Liverpool has been agreed, but the player hasn't yet signed on the bottom line.
Staying with Liverpool for the moment, there has been a lot of speculation regarding their financial position and the possibility that big names like Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres would have to be sold.
Club managing director Christian Purslow has stated categorically, in the Liverpool Echo, that this won't happen, adding ” “Nothing could be further from the truth than reports which suggested the club would choose to sell its star footballers. Full stop.”

One other intriguing transfer rumour today surrounds the future of ex-Arsenal and current AC Milan player Matthieu Flamini. It seems that the Daily Mirror are convinced that Harry Redknapp's Tottenham are set to make a bid for the player.
