Manchester City vs Stoke City Preview

Suspended midfielder Nigel De Jong returns for new manager Roberto Mancini's first match in charge of Manchester City.

Rated doubtful for City, however, are Emmanuel Adebayor, who has an ankle problem, Micah Richards who has a knee injury and winger Shaun Wright-Phillips, who has an ankle injury.

Definitely out are Joleon Lescott, who is recovering from surgery, and Nedum Onuoha who has an calf strain.

Pablo Zabaletta is the most likely starter in place of Richards, with Roque Santa Cruz taking Adebayor's place as the main striker.

Stoke City will welcome back Robert Huth from suspension and the German is set to start at right back, with Danny Collins dropping to the bench.

Ryan Shawcross has a groin strain and is rated 50/50 by Stoke manager Tony Pulis.

Tuncay Sanli is expected to keep his place upfront, possibly in tandem with Mamady Sidibe.
