Stoke City could have Abdoulaye Faye returning from a back injury, while Wigan Athletic have no new injury problems.
Wigan boss Roberto Martinez will have to decide whether to start with recent signings Victor Moses and Marcelo Moreno, although it looks more likely that the pair will once again be on the bench.
Martinez will keep Hugo Rodallega as a lone striker, with support coming from Charles N'Zogbia in midfield.
The Wigan Athletic boss will also be hopeful that goalkeeper Chris Kirkland has overcome his back problem and can start.
Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has revealed he will consider Ricardo Fuller for a start, despite the striker's recent arrest. Fuller, however, has competition from Tuncay and Mamady Sidibe for the two striking positions.
Despite receiving stitches in a head wonder, Andy Wilkinson is fit and will start in defence for Stoke City.
Pulis is likely to keep faith with the midfield four of Lawrence, Etherington, Delap and Whitehead that did so well in Stoke's 3-0 victory over Blackburn at the weekend.
