Chris Samba is rated doubtful for Blackburn Rovers, while Everton's Johnny Heitinga is facing a late fitness test ahead of this match.
Heitinga suffered a foot injury in the midweek draw with Aston Villa and manager David Moyes will give the Dutchman until the last possible moment to prove his fitness.
Definitely out for Everton, however, are long term injury victims Dan Gosling and Marouane Fellaini, with Mikel Arteta also absent with a groin strain.
Striker Louis Saha may return to the starting line-up, after being a substitute during the 2-2 midweek drew with Aston Villa.
Sam Allardyce looks likely to recall Ryan Nelsen to the starting line-up in place of the injured Chris Samba. Nelsen will be partnered by 18 year old centre half Phil Jones.
Vince Grella could drop to the bench, with Martin Olsson coming in as his replacement for Blackburn Rovers.
