Portsmouth v Aston Villa Match Preview

Portsmouth have a number of absentees for the visit of Aston Villa to Fratton Park.

Aruna Dindane is unavailable for selection due to contractual problems with parent club, Lens. Also out are Hassan Yebda (knee), Kevin Prince Boateng (ankle), Nadir Belhadj (thigh) and Papa Bouba Diop, who has a knee injury.

Also sidelined is on loan Spurs midfielder Jamie O'Hara, who has a back problem.

Tommy Smith could start, despite a broken nose, but Portsmouth boss Avram Grant may use this opportunity to blood a few more of Portsmouth's youngsters, as he did in midweek against Wigan Athletic.

Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill will give left back Stephen Warnock a late fitness test. Luke Young will deputise if Warnock doesn't shake off the leg injury sustained in midweek.

Nigel Reo-Coker has overcome an ankle injury that has kept him out for three months, but is set for a place on the substitute's bench as O'Neill is likely to name the same eleven that drew 2-2 with Everton in midweek.
