After Manchester City and Birmingham City failed to reach an agreement to bring back on-loan goalkeeper Joe Hart to Eastlands, it appears that Sunderland's Marton Fulop will be brought in as goalkeeper on an emergency loan deal.
City received permission from the FA to bring in a new goalkeeper after Shay Given was injured during Manchester City's match with Arsenal. With Joe Hart on loan and Stuart Taylor also out, that left City with just 23 year old Gunnar Nielsen as their only fit goalkeeper.
A City spokesman is quoted as saying:
“Agreement has not been reached with Birmingham, but we anticipate that Marton Fulop will join us in training tomorrow and we sincerely thank him and Sunderland AFC for their help in this situation.”
