Birmingham City vs Man City Preview

Goalkeeper Maik Taylor will make his first Premiership start of the season for Birmingham City, while Manchester City have a number of players back in contention.

First choice Birmingham ‘keeper Joe Hart is on loan from Man City and so is ineligible to play against his parent club.

Back from injury for Alex McLeish's side are defensive trio Martin Taylor, Gregory Vignal and David Murphy, but none are expected to start.

McLeish looks set to continue with the more attacking formation deployed against Sunderland last time out, with Cameron Jerome and Christian Benitez upfront supported by James McFadden from midfield.

Manchester City welcome winger Martin Petrov and central defender Kolo Toure back into contention after both missed the midweek Carling Cup tie with minor knocks.

The rested Craig Bellamy and Wayne Bridge are both set to start for Mark Hughes' side with Bellamy starting on the left of midfield to accomodate Emmanuel Adebayor and Carlos Tevez in attack.
